First Friday Devotion to the Sacred Heart

Friday, July 7 is First Friday and everyone is invited to OLSH for devotions to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass starts at 6:30 pm, followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and devotional prayers. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered during this time. The evening concludes at 8:00 pm with prayers of consecration to the Sacred Heart and Benediction.

Sts. Peter & Paul has a Holy Hour from 6:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday June 21. The Sacrament of Penance will not be offered this month.

Attention Notre Dame vs. Navy Fans!

This is official notification to start taking reservations for Our Lady of Sacred Heart’s 24th annual bus trip to Notre Dame. This year’s game will be the  Notre Dame-Navy game on Saturday, November 18, 2017.  The 3-day/2-night trip, open to all parishioners and friends will cost only $410 per person. DON’T HESITATE – DON’T BE LEFT OUT – REMEMBER – this trip has ALWAYS SOLD OUT quickly and this one promises to sell out quickly too!   Please Note: There are Increased costs due to new and increased ticket prices; and we are staying at a new motel in Elkhart.

Some of the details: Leave parish grounds early Friday morning, enjoying a HOT breakfast before leaving, and a Box lunch and drinks on the bus.  Arrive in South Bend in the afternoon allowing plenty of time to tour campus.  We will have dinner at Oliva’s Italian Pub (same as last year).  For the 2-night motel stay, there will be 2 people to a room. All rooms non-smoking. On Saturday, we will have breakfast on campus and continue tour of campus, including visits to the Bookstore, Rockne Memorial, Golden Dome and “the Grotto”, and partake in pre-game activities and tailgating with a ‘grill-out’.  Of course, you can venture out on your own. GAME TIME – 3:30 EST.  On Sunday morning, you will have the opportunity to attend Mass at Sacred Heart Basilica, one of only 17 basilicas in the country, and return home afterwards. And once again, we will have the always popular ‘memorabilia raffle’ to support our parish’s ‘Music Ministry’.  We have many autographed items, — as well as other N. D. collectibles and clothing apparel.

Cost includes game ticket, bus trip, continental breakfast Friday, box lunch, Friday’s dinner at Oliva’s Pub (however Cash Bar), Saturday tailgating, snacks, drinks and lodging. DOES NOT INCLUDE meals on Saturday or Sunday.

Due to overwhelming response every year and the fact that there is more interest than we have tickets for, RESERVATIONS on a “First-Come, First-Serve” basis accompanied by $275 deposit per person – with the balance due September 30, 2017.  Of course,  you’re welcome to pay in full.
